Is there an entrance fee?

There will be no entrance fee to the event.
However normal car park charges will apply, which is €4 payable on your exit from the car park (coin only).

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes, you must book your tickets in advance on eventbrite.com. For Health
& Safety reasons numbers will be restricted. You will need to print
your ticket and present it on entry to Woodstock Gardens. One ticket per
person is required. Entry will not be permitted without a printed ticket.

Where is Woodstock Gardens?

Woodstock Gardens are located on the outskirts of Inistioge Village, Co.
Kilkenny. From the Square in the village take the turn up the steep High
Street , the main gates to Woodstock are at the top of this steep street.


What time does it start / finish?

Events will start at 12.30pm and finish at 5pm sharp. Our final event will
be a Woodland Parade with all of our performers and anyone who wishes to
join in! The Parade will start at 4 pm.

What activities will be there be?

We will have performers and giant installations (provided by Bui Bolg
Productions) placed around the gardens, you never know what you might see…….

Each of our performers will interact with the children at different times
during the day as follows (exact times subject to change)

1 pm – Explore with our intrepid explorers

1.45 pm – Joint the Mad Hatter at his tea party

2.30 pm – Watch out for the sly foxes

3.15 pm – Find the shy rabbits

4 pm – Woodland Parade

We will also have a Giant Teddy Bear who will be present at various times
during the day. And for the older children we will have a forest school
running throughout the day (must be booked on the day) plus an Amazing Fire
Performer. After our final event , the Woodland Parade, a prize will be
awarded to the child who comes dressed as the best woodland character. A
string quartet will also be present on the day in the conservatory.


Do I have to pay for things once I’m inside?

All of the entertainment provided will be free of charge. We will have food
and drink stalls which you can buy from. Our tea room which is located in
the conservatory will also be open on the day.


Food providers/stalls will be there on the day?

We will have limited picnic benches but why not bring a blanket and sit on
the grass and enjoy your food! All of our food providers/stalls will be
located in the one area of the gardens (between the Walled Garden and the
Winter Garden)


Is parking free?

No – normal car parking charges will apply. €4 per vehicle payable on your
exit from the car park (coin only).


Are there public toilets?

Yes, we will bring in extra toilet facilities for the event. We will also
have designated Disabled Toilets available.


Is there disabled access to all areas?

We have done our best to ensure that most of the events are held in one
area and are as accessible as possible, but we would point out that this is
a park/wooded garden and unfortunately there are some things that our
beyond your control. Most of the events will be held in the area around the
Walled Garden which is on a slight incline but paths are well surfaced.
Please also note that the walk from the car park to the event area is
approximately 200 metres and is on a gradual incline.

We have someone with us who has trouble walking?

We do have a mobility buggy which can transport you from the car park
entrance to the gardens to the walled garden. Please also note that the
walk from the car park to the event area is approximately 200 metres and is
on a gradual incline. If you do need to avail of the mobility buggy please
go to the designated pickup area which will be sign posted and we will
do our best to accommodate you. Please note there may be a wait at busy times.


Are all areas buggy friendly?

The area where the events are taking place are buggy friendly. The location
for the Woodland Parade may be a little bumpy but is accessible with a
buggy.


Where is the meeting point if I lose my child?

The event office will be located in the Walled garden and will be sign
posted on the day. If your child does go missing please notify a member of
staff (identifiable in Hi-Viz Jackets) in the area immediately. Please make
your older children aware that if they are in any difficulty to contact any
member of staff. Our performers will also have someone with them who can
also be contacted if the need arises.

Children must be accompanied by Parent/Guardian at ALL times


Will first aid be available onsite?

Yes – Civil Defence will be on site next to the event office located in the
Walled Garden


Are dogs allowed at the event?

No, except for Guide dogs and Assistance dogs.


What if it rains?

Hopefully we will have a lovely day, but as this is Ireland we cannot
depend on the weather! Please come dressed for whatever weather we are
presented with on the day. All of the events will be held outdoors. If the
weather in the lead up to the event is wet, we would advise that some areas
may be quite mucky. Please come dressed appropriately!
